Well this is the start of year three of boat ownership of Kozad! As always, the boating season started off with spring cleaning after a long and hard winter! Kozad received some attention which meant Craig went to the boat in April for two weeks; working 8 hours a day, weather permitting!
Washing, polishing, and waxing are always one of the first things we do when we go boating. This year was also time for attention to all the exterior wood surfaces on Kozad; hot gun, scraping, paint scraper, more scraping and lots of sanding were required to strip off the varnish from cap rails, salon door, trim and fore peak hatch.

Craig, Garry & Jenn then applied the first coat of SikkensCetol Natural Teak finish; we are hoping this will last longer than the varnish and be easier to maintain.
Nice to have helping hands! Good friends.....
The work was well worth it, the newly stained wood surfaces turned out excellent and will be much easier to maintain!
Bow, starboard has been stripped first coat, port side is old varnish
