We were going to leave the dock at 0600 but it was dark so we left at 0645hrs for our first time out of the new dock!
Now our routine is to raise our mast upon leaving the marina. This was our first time attempting this with the wind blowing and current flowing! Things went well but this is definitely a two person job while tied to an open outside slip.
Kozad's mast in folded position!
We were just 9" too tall to fit under cover,
Jan said "can't we just go in at low tide!"
We had great weather with cloudy skies!
The plan was to cruise to Port Ludlow as the half way point on our way to Poulsbo; which is a very nice waterfront Norwegian themed town. The tides, currents and winds were in our favour and we decided to continue to Poulsblo; we averaged 6.6kts and had a 10 hour day travelling 66 miles.
At the entrance to Puget Sound the USCG had stationed a Cutter and enforcement RIB; checking south bound boaters? We were not boarded and continued along our way!
